Welcome to Idle Hands Woodwork!
In 2012, Idle Hands Woodwork began offering a full line of totally custom reproduction REAL WOOD handles for the infamous pistol grip shift lever used in 1970 through 1974 Chrysler vehicles.
Since then, thanks to the tremendous demand of the MoPar faithful, this iconic shifter has been reborn and has found it's way into modern Dodge vehicles....and Idle Hands Woodwork is proud to outfit these vehicles as well.
My reproduction wood grips are designed to fit OEM Dodge/Plymouth/Hurst shifter arms, as well as those currently manufactured Hurst, and most other aftermarket pistol grips shifters. I personally hand carve these grips from the finest hardwoods available. Each set is made to order and finished individually by a master craftsman (and MoPar fan) with many years of woodworking experience.
Whether you're looking for a stock-looking alternative to the plastic grips you already have, an off-the-wall design that is as individual as your car, or something in between, I assure you that you can find what you're looking for at Idle Hands Woodwork.
For inspiration, have a look at some of the images in the MY WORK section of the website. My business thrives on custom creations, and I want to make a set of grips that compliment the character and attitude of your vehicle. Your option list is wide open. We can discuss the type of wood (or woods) used, mounting options, shape......you name it. Dye matching to your vehicles paint color is a specialty.
All Idle Hands Woodwork products are made one at a time and made to last. I look forward to working with you.
